INSPIRE Final Conference – Session 2: Arts, Culture and Mental Health
The final international conference “Well-being and Mental Health in the Context of Art and Culture” was the apex of the whole INSPIRE project, with all the three INSPIRE partners working closely together to secure the venue, select the speakers, and make all other necessary arrangements. Taking place at the traditional venue of the Mezi ploty festival in Bohnice, it featured prominent speakers from Czechia, Poland, Spain and Croatia.
The second day of the conference was clearly dedicated to the arts, their relation to the human mind and, in particular, their ability to empower people, increase their participation in society and even drive social change. The speakers included Dominika Grygarová, researcher of the Centre for Advanced Studies of Brain and Consciousness at the National Institute of Mental Health, Marinela Neralic from Zagreb-based Centre for Theatre of the Oppressed, Agnieszka Kiełbus, coordinator of the Nikifory programme, and Marina Castillon, a cultural mediator involved in the Healing Arts Barcelona project.
