In 2025, the Mezi ploty festival not only enabled festivalgoers to communicate with therapists and peer counsellors active in the area of drug addiction – as part of the INSPIRE project it also organized a roundtable debate with experts who can look at the issue of addictive substances in a broader context. Attended by Ing. Jana Michailidu, Ph.D., a politician, scientist and former member of The Government Council for Addiction Policy Coordination, Dr Radovan Hřib, Head of the Pain Management Centre at St. Anne’s University Hospital in Brno, and RNDr. Ladislav Kážmér, Ph.D., a researcher from the National Institute of Mental Health, the panel touched upon trends in both legal and illegal drug use, the therapeutic significance of cannabis, as well as the controversial issue of marihuana legalization.
